Random Rants, Vol VII

Who are these people who insist on using their windshield wiper fluid while they are driving. I realize their cars are so filthy they must use windshield wiper fluid in lieu of a good cleaning (remember folks, we live in SoCali where there has been no rain for months). But while driving? What, you didn't know your windshield was filthy before you pulled out of the driveway? You think since your car is so filthy that the rest of us must have filthy cars too, and therefore do not care that you just spewed Windex all over our cars? 'Scuse me?

The California Vehicle Code says that the only things that may be legally expelled from a motor vehicle being driven on the roadway are clear water and feathers from live birds--the latter obviously being a concession to the 909 contingent. So technically, wiper fluid is illegal if it leaves their vehicle--And it should be a crime when it spots the wax job you just paid fifty bucks for. What's worse though are broken sprinkler heads in the median strips spewing a fountain over the entire roadway, not only completely destroying your detail, but creating a significant hazard when you unexpectedly hit a patch of wet road.

Next time someone sprays my car with wiper fluid I'll spray their car with pages from the vehicle code book. Or maybe with the sharp, bound edge of a vehicle code book on their faces!
