Read all about it Interestingly, the slaughter of 20 people by their government over the mere fact that they protested said government doesn't really ring the slightest bell in US media. Yes this is hidden 12 links deep on Yahoo news, but any headlines? Any CNN or Fox or ABC headlines about this? Nein. Proud to wear that Chinese star shirt, you pro-communist pig? SteinemWeb.jpg

Word on the street

The Chinese economic and military ideology has as its foundation the simple fact that in a country of a billion plus people, they can afford a few casualties; They place no value on human life. Apparently the press has ascribed the relative importance of the story correspondingly.
It’s interesting that there have been 70,000 confrontations in the last year, and the measures taken in this instance were probably a warning intended to be a guard against a real or perceived threat: The growing possibility of the poverty-stricken masses that account for 80% of the population coalescing to form a unified front against their oppression and impoverishment. We are heavily invested in the Chinese economy, and the stakes are so high that any turmoil would be devastating to our economy as well; The US has taken a surprisingly laissez-faire attitude towards their repeated transgressions relative to the sanctions we have imposed on other countries that commit similar atrocities, and you have to wonder what will what stance we will take if the conflicts escalate into a full-blown class war.

But tsls, you gotta admit the Chinese are also quite borg-like. Resistance is futile. And that attitude and motus operandi for living goes back many -ing Dynasties, not just the recent billionth customer born issue.

That is true; their tumultuous history has been marked by countless attempts to control the population through ruthless means, rigid social ideals, and a closed-door policy that denied the possibility of foreign intrigue. Their history laid an ideal foundation on which to lay Communist ideology. I do think that they have attempted to exploit the burgeoning population to pursue a newfound aggressive strategy with regards to their role in the world. They are well aware that the “numbers game” philosophy combined with their status as a nuclear state has brought them a great deal of leverage.
